Next to King Kong, “Frankenstein” is probably the best known movie monsters of all time. Released in 1931, it was pretty scary stuff though it seems pretty tame by today's standards. Spawning dozens of sequels, remakes, spoofs and just plain crap, I can't think of any other franchise as successful with the possible exception of the Godzilla films. Like the others, this kit's assembly is pretty simple with only four parts: a resin base and body and a pair of pot metal hands. 90% of making this kit look good is the paint job which can get pretty dull if you let it. I stuck with tradition by making the monster's garments black or very dark gray, For skin color, I started with a base coat of light flesh color followed by a thin wash of yellow green. Once this dried, I came back with a thin wash of purple which pooled very nicely in the low points on the upper neck giving it a dead flesh look. Lastly, I came back with a very fine plastic probe to apply reddish brown into scars and joint 'seams'. Finally, I scribed random parallel lines on the resin base to represent what I though a stone floor would look like in a castle's mad genius' laboratory.
