Here is a nice bust based on the talented work of Casey Love who's resume reads like a who's who in the special effects world of science fiction cinema. Here is the link to his web page should you decide to learn more about this talented artist (http://www.caseylovestudio.com/)
As is the case with other busts I have built from this company and acquired on eBay (where else?), the cast was very clean with very slight seam lines easily removed with some careful filing. The two fangs were cast separately and are attached with either AC glue or 5 minute epoxy.
Though visually intriguing, I don't think this insect nightmare is based on any specific creature in film or print but I certainly could be mistaken. If any of you know otherwise, please let me know so I can provide credit where credit is due.
My color palette follows the illustration of the bust on eBay although I made the 'gill' area at the sides of the head a bit more pink in appearance. The eyes were easier that I had anticipated but applying a gloss black base coat which, when sealed, I added dabs of iridescent blue to suggest glowing inner depths. Finally, I applied four layers of Future floor wax to bring out the gloss of the eight eyes that really made them 'pop'. As was the case with the Creature bust, I think this would be a nice 'beginner's' project if you are thinking of delving into the world of bust collecting. 1/28/2018.
