Well I knew if I waited long enough, I'd get my hands on one of these very rare SOTA “Nightmares Of Lovecraft”, Nyarlathotep! This is the last in the collection (so far) and like the others in this set, it comes in several colors. The color can impact the value of the figure, presumably this is related to how true the “actual” coloration represents that of the character as it appears in the Cthulhu Mythos.
Nyarlathotep comes in black, light green, light blue or white though I think the black version is the more desirable of the four for the reason I just described.
In any case, no matter what color this bad boy is, it is extremely creepy in its own right. The twisted tentacles that seem to writhe even as you look at them with the ever open howling mouth is disquieting to say the least. Though I think the Dagon figure from SOTA (State Of The Art Toys) is the most blood-curdling of the bunch.
Did I say this figure was HUGE? Well, it is by most standards. It stands 12 inches tall by roughly that many in diameter and weighs almost fourteen pounds! The other figures in the series were roughly half that in size so I was more than a little surprised when I opened the box.
I made a very short video of this figure on a turntable (see below) so you can get a pretty good idea of how this thing looks in person. Enjoy. 3/18/20
A brief silent video of this figure.
